Chronicles of Percy French
An audio book read by Brian Munn
With music by Teresa O’Donnell
Originally published in 1922, the book Chronicles of Percy French presented Percy French’s own stories of his life and work. It was compiled and edited by French’s sister, Emily De Burgh Daly and published by The Talbot Press in Dublin.
In this new audio book, Brian Munn reads extensively from the Chronicles and harpist Teresa O’Donnell adds her touch of magic with a few Percy French tunes also sings The Mountains of Mourne.
In her preface to the first edition Emily De Burgh Daly wrote:
As editor of these simple chronicles I claim for them this distinction, that they are written about a well-known Irishman, largely by his own hand, and yet they contain no controversial matter of any kind.
The Chronicles of Percy French comprises a set of three CDs celebrating one of Ireland’s most multi-talented artists of the 19th & 20th centuries.
